Meet Our Talented Organist!
Cindy Schultz
Organist/Pianist
When I began playing the piano at age four, I couldn’t have imagined where my path would lead. Eventually, it would bring me to serve churches in North and South Carolina as both pianist and organist, teach piano for 25+ years, and accompany soloists and instrumentalists in my hometown, college, and seminary. Church has always been an important part of my life, and as I grew in my knowledge of the piano, I incorporated that knowledge into playing for Sunday School classes. I also accompanied choirs in middle school and high school.
Upon graduating in music from Mars Hill University (it was Mars Hill college then), I received a Master of Church Music degree (piano) from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, where I met my husband, Larry. We married in the seminary chapel and began a joint ministry of providing music for churches of varying denominations.
Currently, I serve as church organist at First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Raleigh, North Carolina, and teach piano and voice lessons at Accelerando Music Academy. My calling as organist allows me to be an integral part of First Church of Christ, Scientist, a loving community of faith that supports meaningful worship music. I am undergirded by their encouragement and friendship, and blessed beyond measure.
When I am not at church, I enjoy decorating, crafts and watching movies at home with Larry and our two children, Ryan and Kelly. Miki, our dog, is usually in our laps.
